Twinlakes Theme Park

Yesterday we headed to Twinlakes theme park which is 3 miles from Melton Mowbray Town Centre in Leicestershire. It’s about a 50 minute drive from where we live so not too far for a day of fun! We last went to Twinlakes when Boo was in her pushchair and my oldest Liam was about 10 so it’s been a good 8 years since we were last there.

Now Twinlakes is advertised as a ‘theme park’ but if you’re an adrenaline junkie expecting your next high then you’ll be sorely disappointed! I’d say that once you get to the age of around 10 years then there isn’t going to be a great deal for you to do at Twinlakes but if you are 3-10 years then there is lots that will keep you happy.

My two must have gone on every ride a few times yesterday and they loved every minute! There were plenty of rides to keep them happy from small rollercoasters, rowing boats, pedalo boats, a log flume, a flying ride, trauma tower, a train and many more! There is also a huge splash play area and a beach (summer only) so make sure you take your swimwear if you visit! If that wasn’t enough there are loads of different play areas with swings, slides, zip slides, bouncy pillows, mazes and soft play.

We also loved walking round the farm when we needed a break from the rides. I fell in love with one of the rabbits and may have to go back in a few weeks to buy one of his babies! Bugs absolutely loved seeing the meerkats and telling us all about them as he has just learnt about them at school.

The facilities at Twinlakes are really good, plenty of clean toilets, places to buy food & ice creams and a nice big gift shop. I took a picnic and there were plenty of picnic tables indoor and outdoor for us to choose from. Everywhere was clean and well tended too and the staff were friendly and helpful! Twinlakes gets a huge thumbs up from us and we will most definitely be going back!

I purchased our tickets online before we went and got them for £16.99 each which isn’t bad for a full day out. We also took part in their ‘summer super 6 challenge’ which gave us a free family ticket to return in September if we went on their 6 top attractions. We managed to go on all but one which was closed but they stamped our card as a goodwill gesture so we are really looking forward to going back soon 🙂
